Brick Pavers and Wall Stone

In the past 30 years I have used all the paver and bloc companies in this area.  What I have learned is every year things change! Style , quality, ease of use, availability and most of all Price!  As each company battles it out for market share, we can be winners or losers when it comes to picking the right products.   

Some of the things I use frequently and recommend are 1: Gator Sand for in between the pavers. It comes in two colors and in low and high strength. I'm  sure I like the high strength because I've observed some cracking, particularly after a hard winter.  The regular strength has been holding up very well. 2: Cement Edge Restraint  I know every one wants to sell you a plastic or rubber restraint and they all swear it won't rise to the top, but I have made a good amount of money repairing  and replacing it over the years and still have not found any I like.  3: Paver Sealer is a separate price, but I find if you like the wet look and have lots of trees or acorns its the way to go. • Techo Block - Pavers and Wall Stone  Nice product, a little pricy, but I love the Inca slabs pavers , Muro wall caps, and Stonedge Pillar caps.  Wall stone is a good hard quality and I like the color options for Belgik Belgium Block curbs for driveways.  The Venetian Riser and Caps are great for re facing that old stair case you hate.
   

• Cambridge - Pavers and Wall Stone Good pavers good price and with Armor Tec coating - their claim is true: these blocks hold their color the best!  Good customer support.  Not a big fan of their wall block.
   

• Grinnell - Pavers and Wall Stone Believe it or not, Grinnell was the first big paver producer in our area.  When they had the Home Depot contract, their quality really dropped off and  they really did not support contractors very well.  Now they're making a come back and at the right price too.  I like their tumbled pavers and block!  I used some at my own house and they look good.

• Unilock Pavers  Premium Pavers!  The Courtstone, Richcliff and others in this line are the first paver that looks like stamped concrete.  They truly are a beautiful paver.  They don't look like a piece of cement with color.  I love them!  Let's hope the price starts to come down.  I installed a few driveways last year and I'm looking forward to seeing how they hold up.
   

• Paver Treatments  Used the sealer, two coats and they look great.
