TREE GUARD’s
ready-to-use formulation sprays on milky and dries to a clear,
attractive coating. Non-phytotoxic to plants, use it to protect all
trees, shrubs and flowering ornamentals—but do not use it on
anything grown for human consumption.
A unique latex polymer
carries the active ingredient, Bitrex, and holds it to the surface of
the plant, resisting rain, and wash-off for up to 100 days. New plant
growth will need to be protected as it develops.
A detection agent is also
incorporated, permitting deer to identify which plants have been
treated, eliminating the need for deer to taste your plants to detect
the TREE GUARD.
One
gallon protects 1,000 square feet of plant material. Note that two
light coats provide better protective results than a single heavy
application.
The U.S. deer population
has expanded to more than 25 million, from less than 500,000 at the
turn of the century. This proliferation shows no sign of slowing,
because there are few natural deer predators. The problem is most
severe in suburban communities where humans and deer compete for
limited natural habitat.
